Turkey's Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of international support for the Syrian people in the wake of President Bashar al-Assad's removal. Speaking at a news conference in Doha, Qatar, Hakan Fidan expressed hope for the Syrian people but stressed that they cannot achieve stability alone.
Fidan urged the international community to back the Syrian people and called for caution to prevent further destabilization in the region. He specifically mentioned the need to monitor groups like ISIS and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) who could exploit the situation in Syria.
Highlighting Turkey's commitment to promoting stability in Syria, Fidan stated that they would continue supporting efforts to establish security in the country. He also acknowledged the positive engagement of Russia and Iran in discussions about the Syrian crisis, along with the participation of other regional players such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan.
The meeting held on Saturday involving these key stakeholders aimed to address the evolving situation in Syria and coordinate efforts to ensure peace and security in the region. Fidan's call for international solidarity underscores the complex challenges facing Syria and the need for a united front to support the Syrian people in their quest for stability.
