Tunisia Records More than 28,000 COVID Deaths

Tunisia registered up to 28,000 coronavirus-related deaths and slightly over 1 million infections since the pandemic began two years ago, the Health Ministry reported on Thursday.

The Ministry said five COVID-19 deaths and 540 infections were reported on March 8, raising the caseload to 1,018,447 and death toll to 28,009.

The number of fully vaccinated people in the country reached 6,338,837, including 4,663,983 who received two doses and 1,674,854 who received the first shot.

Also, member of the Scientific Committee for the fight against the Coronavirus Mahjoub Aouni urged Tunisians to respect health protocols to overcome the country’s fifth wave of the pandemic.
