TUI picks top locations for beer drinkers from city breaks to a river cruise

Drinkers around the world will celebrate International Beer Day on Friday, so travel giant TUI has handpicked a selection of holiday destinations that are some of the best locations to sink a pint. Whether it's a few local brews on a city break or enjoying a cold one in the sunshine, there are several locations ideal for beer lovers.

Everything from sampling traditional German beers in Berlin, to quaffing a classic cerveza on the shores of Cancun, there are some great holiday deals around. Here are some of the tastiest trips on offer with TUI:

Germany

Expect a German beer to be consistent thanks to the Reinheitsgebot – the German Beer Purity Law introduced in 1487 that limits the ingredients brewers can use. For those looking to spend their time away exploring a city and trialling local tipples, Berlin is a great option.

Seven-nights in Berlin staying at the 4T Hotel Riu Plaza Berlin on a room only basis. Prices from £373 per person based on two adults sharing, flights departing from Glasgow airport on October 31, 2022.

The Netherlands

In the heart of Amsterdam, the Heineken Experience offers a behind-the-scenes journey in an interactive museum housed inside the historic brewery. For those who are looking to try something new and tick off a number of towns and cities renowned for its beer, a river cruise is the perfect choice.

TUI River Cruises offers a seven-night Dutch & Deutsch Explorer cruise on TUI Maya from £1,081 per person. This cruise sets sail from Amsterdam and visits Rotterdam, Netherlands; Dusseldorf, Germany; Bonn, Germany; Koblenz, Germany; Boppard, Germany, Oberwesel, Germany and Frankfurt, Germany. Based on two adults sharing a deck 2 standard cabin on a full board plus basis, this cruise departs on August 26, 2022, flying from Birmingham airport. Price includes return flights, transfers, £120 excursion credit, tips, and service charges.

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic has the highest beer consumption per capita in the world After exploring the historic city of Prague, taking part in a beer tour, or indulging in hearty Czech cuisine, make sure to try a Pilsner Urquell. The drink was first brewed in 1842 in the Czech city of Pilsen, and it is still made there today.

Seven-night holidays to Prague staying at the 4T Red and Blue Design on a room only basis. Prices from £474 per person based on two adults sharing, flights departing from Edinburgh airport on August 17, 2022.

Mexico

Holidaymakers can sit back and relax on the golden Mexican sands sipping a cool bottle of Corona. There are plenty of choices for food and drink with five restaurants and five bars.

Seven-night holidays to Cancun staying at the 4T Riu Cancun on an all-inclusive board basis from £1065 per person based on two adults sharing, flights departing from Birmingham airport on September 14, 2022 and transfers.

Croatia

More than 90 per cent of all beer in Croatia is domestically produced and there is a wide variety to choose. For those looking to explore the local towns, there is a water taxi service with drop offs a couple of times a day.

Seven-night holidays to Porec staying at the 4T Valamar Tamaris Resort on an all-inclusive board basis from £762 per person based on two adults sharing, flights departing from Birmingham airport on September 14, 2022, and transfers.
