Tui has announced that they are continuing to cancel flights to Sri Lanka.
The travel company started holiday cancellations to Sri Lanka in May and has progressively extended the ban. It will now continue until August 22.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has advised against all but essential travel due to political and economic instability in the Indian Ocean island, forcing T ui to cancel more fights and holidays. Sri Lankans for the past months have been forced to stand in long queues to buy the limited stocks of fuel, cooking gas and foods.

Tui said: "As a result, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel all holidays to Sri Lanka departing up to and including 22 August 2022. We will be proactively contacting all impacted customers in departure date order to discuss their options."
Tui reiterated its stance that the situation in Sri Lanka will continue to be monitored and customers will be updated. The advice does not apply to customers transiting through Sri Lanka’s international airport.
