Holiday firm, TUI has cancelled all holidays to Sri Lanka. Those booked on flights departing up to and including 31 May 2022 are affected.
The news comes as the UK Foreign Office updates its travel advice for Sri Lanka, urging Brits not to go to the country unless it’s absolutely necessary. The island has been in the news as it faces its worst economic crisis in more than 70 years.
Protests have been taking place across Sri Lanka since March 31. Shortages of medicines, fuel and food have all been reported and locals are suffering from power cuts every day due to electricity rationing.
