Tucker Carlson isn't staying out of the limelight for long following his Fox News exit as he has revealed he's set to take a new version of his show to Twitter.
The presenter took to the social media platform to reveal his decision, with many fans welcoming his impending return.
He uploaded a video alongside a simple caption saying: "We're back."
In the clip a chirpy Tucker told his fans: "You often hear people say the news is full of lies.
"But most of the team that's not exactly right. Much of what you see on television is true in the literal sense."
He continued his impassioned speech to explain why he is stepping away from TV and heading to social media for his latest role.
He explained how Elon Musk's Twitter is the "only" big platform remaining that allows free speech.
After over two minutes of ranting, Tucker confirmed: "Starting soon we'll be bringing a new version of the show we've been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter."
He then teased they will be "bringing some other things too" before saying he was "grateful" to be on the platform.
The announcement was quickly spread widely across the platform with thousands of supporters quote tweeting his post.
One user gushed: "Wow. Looks like Tucker is coming to Twitter - going for the biggest possible audience and not a paycheck, at least for now. A brilliant choice. (And I don’t see how Fox can stop him. A man can speak. A man has rights.)"
Liz Wheeler seemingly agreed, adding: "Congratulations!! This is great news. Your new set looks better already."
The presenter had fronted talk show Tucker Carlson Tonight since 2016 on Fox News and had been with the company since 2009.
Regarding his abrupt departure last month, the network said: "FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor."
It was revealed that his last show had aired on Friday April 21, with Fox News Tonight now airing in its slot as an "interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities".
