It was pretty informative over where attention lies currently that a majority of questions asked to Thomas Tuchel in Friday's press conference focused on transfers.
The German respectfully swatted away questions over bids for Wesley Fofana and interest in a reunion with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
That reflects how little we can fully paint the picture over Chelsea's ambitions this season. Until September 2nd, we cannot truly have a firm grounding to talk about the next nine months. But games still have to be played even if some major deals could still be done.

Today's test at home to Spurs is arguably one team Tuchel might have preferred avoiding so early into the season with an unfinished squad. The North London club are coming into this clash with tons of hype and expectation of a Champions League finish again with Antonio Conte.
With the capital set for another heatwave over the weekend and all focus on an early blockbuster battle, here are The Burning Questions ahead of Chelsea vs Spurs.
Waiting for Wesley
There is growing hope that Chelsea will not only meet Leicester's valuation for Wesley Fofana, but a deal can be struck to bring him to Stamford Bridge. After the 4-2 loss to Leicester City yesterday, Fofana went over to the travelling fans to applaud them, which could signal his exi
But Tuchel will not have him to counteract the speed of Conte's attack, with Son Heung-Min the biggest threat facing the right of Chelsea's defence. Does Tuchel stick with Cesar Azpilicueta, even with concerns over his speed and form?
Pushing Reece James back into defence weakens Chelsea's wingback options, but Tuchel has shown that he can use Ruben Loftus-Cheek effectively as a wingback when needed. And let's not forget about Trevoh Chalobah. This call could prove decisive today, further emphasizing the need for the Fofana deal to get done.
The Impressive Trio
Although the performance at Goodison Park was underwhelming, it did provide us with much-needed positivity over the three major signings of the summer.
Raheem Sterling dazzled in the first half, whilst Kalidou Koulibaly contributed to a valuable clean sheet. Marc Cucurella impressed from a cameo from the bench, giving hope all three will prove key players this season.
And it feels likely that the trio could start on today, mainly due to Ben Chilwell getting back into his stride after his ACL injury.
Finding Havertz
The questions over the forward are only going to grow if performances like last weekend continue.
Kai Havertz was worryingly anonymous again and provided little to signal he is ready to become a reliable provider of goals in a critical season for his development.
Armando Broja's impact certainly offered encouragement over what he could bring, adding a competitive edge to an attacking area that needs vast improvement. Although it seems unlikely that Broja will start, he scored against Spurs the last time he faced them for Southampton in January.
