A man has admitted trying to rape a woman on a late night London Underground train.
Vincent Saxon, 54, exposed himself to a woman travelling on her own on a Bakerloo Line train between Waterloo and Lambeth North at around 11.40pm on July 11.
He then dragged her to the floor and trying to rape her in the carriage, officers said.
She fought back and fled the train at Lambeth North before alerting station staff, while her attacker got off at Elephant and Castle, the next stop.
He was caught after a media and social media appeal that resulted in several people coming forward to police with crucial information.
One anonymous caller rang to say that they had seen the appeal and that a man matching Saxon’s description was outside a shop on Fulham Palace Road.
Officers raced to the location and Saxon was arrested. He was taken into custody and later charged.
Judge Vanessa Baraitser told Saxon, of no fixed address, he would be remanded in custody and sentenced at the same court on October 30.
Additional information for psychiatric and probation reports were also ordered.
