Tua Tagovailoa on people still questioning his deep ball after 466-yard game: ‘I don’t care’

After being one of the most talked-about quarterbacks in recent memory, Miami Dolphins starter Tua Tagovailoa sounds like he’s not dealing with any outside foolishness this season.

After defending himself against insensitive comments from ESPN analyst Ryan Clark last month, Tagovailoa shared his exacerbation for those who still don’t think he can throw for long passes after his winning 466-yard, 3-touchdown performance against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

His response? He really doesn’t care. Like, at all.

“I don’t care,” Tagovailoa said with laugh. “I mean, I don’t care. 466… That’s what 466 is if I can’t throw deep.”

Tell ’em what you really think, Tua!

This is the kind of feistiness that usually accompanies an increase in confidence, so good for Tagovailoa if he’s able to muster up some extra belief in himself by pushing against the noise going on around him.

Miami will need him to show this grit on the field every week and stay healthy to buoy the team’s clear Super Bowl aspirations in a tough AFC.

At the very least, they’ll surely love for him to continue to prove these deep-throw doubters very wrong.
