While much of the market frets over whether the artificial intelligence boom can live up to the hype, one company keeps quietly answering the question with its results. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (NYSE: TSM), the contract chipmaker that physically builds the advanced processors powering nearly the entire AI revolution, kicked off this week with a monster 44.7% surge in monthly sales.
The timing could hardly have been better. With the iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ: SOXX) having recently shed as much as 30% amid fears that the AI boom was cooling, TSMC's sharp revenue jump was a reminder that the doubters may have moved too soon.
