US President Donald Trump’s second-term immigration strategy has followed a clear pattern: announce a restriction, defend it in court, and if legal challenges block it, shift the same objective to another executive order, agency rule, visa directive or fee.
The approach has affected undocumented migrants, asylum seekers, students, tourists, skilled workers and people seeking permanent residence. Some measures are in force. Others remain blocked, under review or awaiting implementation.
