Trump formally signed an executive order making the terminology change on 29 September.
Trump's Strange Stance Draws Attention During AI Announcement
Rather than focusing solely on Trump's comments about AI, viewers quickly began examining his posture. In the footage, his feet appear to point in noticeably different directions while his body remains angled forward, prompting questions about whether he was experiencing discomfort or difficulty maintaining his stance.
Rupar shared the clip with the caption: 'Trump is standing like no human has ever stood before'. The footage subsequently prompted a wave of reactions from X users, many of whom focused on the president's legs and the unusual position of his feet.

One user wrote: 'Something is wrong with his leg.' Another referenced Trump's history of receiving military draft deferments for bone spurs, writing: '5 draft deferments for bone spurs. Turns out the feet really were the problem. Documented.'
Other reactions were more speculative. Users suggested that shoe lifts, a concealed support device, or even an exoskeleton could explain the position of Trump's body, although there is no verified evidence that he uses any such equipment.
Social Media Users Question Trump's Walking Pattern
The latest video comes after several other clips have prompted similar discussion about Trump's gait and posture. In July, footage of Trump walking towards Marine One led to online claims that he appeared to have an uneven gait, with some viewers specifically focusing on his right leg. There was no medical evidence establishing a cause for the movement.
In January, another video from Trump's New Year's Eve appearance at Mar-a-Lago prompted claims that he appeared to be dragging his right leg. Again, the observations came from viewers watching the footage, rather than from a medical assessment.
More recently, footage from a White House event in August showed Trump taking slow strides and repeatedly tapping the side of his leg. That clip also fuelled an unverified online theory that he could be using an exoskeleton or another mobility device. The White House has not stated that Trump uses an exoskeleton or any similar device.

Trump's Leg Swelling Has Been Medically Documented
There is, however, an established medical issue involving Trump's legs. His physician confirmed in July 2025 that he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood flow through the veins in the legs.
The White House stated that the condition accounted for visible swelling in his lower legs and ankles. A later medical assessment also recorded slight lower-leg swelling, while reporting that examinations of his cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurological systems were reassuring.
Recent reporting has also examined apparent bulges around Trump's calves, but those images cannot establish what caused them. The condition diagnosed by his physician has not been confirmed as the explanation for every unusual appearance of Trump's legs in photographs or videos.
That distinction is significant as social media users continue to connect separate pieces of footage. A strange stance or uneven-looking walk may be visible in a video, but the footage alone cannot establish whether it results from pain, a medical condition, footwear, posture, or something else.
Trump has continued to appear at public events and travel extensively despite the scrutiny. His physician has maintained that the president remains in good health, while viral videos continue to generate debate over his movements.
