Trump’s AI chatbot debunked some of his wild claims and said Biden won the 2020 election. A day later, users found out it’s no longer doing so

President Donald Trump recently announced America.gov as a government site that uses AI systems, including Google’s Gemini and xAI’s Grok, to answer questions on services such as passport renewals and Medicare. He said the tool could cut government bureaucracy and make paperwork a thing of the past. Users apparently later tested the chatbot with questions that went beyond those routine topics.

Mediaite reported that those tests produced replies that challenged some of Trump’s claims about his presidency and elections on Tuesday. However, CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale said the next day on X that the replies had changed. Dale wrote that the chatbot had said former President Joe Biden won the 2020 election and that there was no indication of widespread fraud.
