Tensions between Mexico and the U.S. have been simmering for months and Mexican president López Obrador accused the U.S. last week of being partially responsible for the violence which currently engulfs Sinaloa.
On Monday, the U.S. ambassador in Mexico offered a rebuttal, saying that "what is being seen in Sinaloa is not the fault of the United States."
