Donald Trump teases 2024 bid for the White House and says 'get ready, that's all I'm telling you'

Donald Trump is reportedly considering a new bid for the White House according to a number of sources, including the 76-year-old himself.

His advisers have been teasing the media in recent days while the former US President even suggested a strong possibility of a comeback during a rally in Iowa this week.

Trump told the crowd: "And now, in order to make our country successful and safe and glorious, I will very, very, very probably do it again."

He went on to add: "Get ready, that's all I'm telling you, very soon. Get ready."

His advisers said Trump was contacting confidantes to discuss possible scenarios as he looks to benefit from expected Republican wins in Tuesday's midterms.

"I think like a moth to a flame, Trump will run in 2024," one senior adviser told Reuters anonymously.

"I think that he wants to run and announcing before Thanksgiving gives him a great advantage over his opponents and he understands that."

Despite the clear suggestion of a new bid, representatives for Mr Trump have not released a statement to the media.

Meanwhile, Trump could be making a return to Twitter very soon, as a US political expert said Elon Musk will allow him to return for commercial reasons.

Simon Dolan, author of Trump the Hidden Halo told Express.co.uk that Mr Musk will be "beholden" to the financial institutions that allowed him to buy the social media giant.

Mr Dolan also added that free speech was a vital part of western civilisation, and said: "I think it is more important than democracy. Freedom of speech is the keystone of the entire Western Civilisation.

"The moment you get rid of it, all hell breaks loose. We have seen this happen many times in the 20th Century - it never ends any differently.

"Whether Trump is on Twitter or not really isn’t the point, the broader question is, is it a good thing that political opponents (or indeed The President of the United States as he was at the time), be silenced, by any platform?

"If you believe that to be true then you have to accept that the very same thing will undoubtedly happen to ‘your side’ at some stage."
