NEW YORK — A Trump supporter pulled a knife and threatened a mother with two children Tuesday in front of the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse, where TV reporters have been camped out amid a looming indictment against the former president, authorities said.
Angela Rucker, 39, was holding a yellow sign with black lettering that said, “I’m With Trump Are You?” when she got embroiled in an argument with two women, one with two small kids and the other with a child in a stroller, according to Lucien Chalfen, spokesman for the New York State Office of Court Administration.
As the verbal dispute flared up, Rucker whipped out a knife from her hip pocket and started waving it at the woman in a threatening way, the spokesman added.
Additional security had been added to the perimeter of the courthouse ahead of an expected criminal fraud charge against former President Donald Trump in connection with a $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 campaign for the White House.
Sharp-eyed court officers, who were patrolling the area outside the building, spotted Rucker waving the knife and drew their guns while ordering her to drop the blade, according to Chalfen.
She dropped the weapon and was taken into custody.
Charges were pending Monday evening.
