US President Donald Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, has begun offering a $100,000-a-month service that gives Wall Street traders direct access to his posts through an application programming interface (API), raising concerns over insider trading, market fairness and the use of public office for private gain.
The service, called Truth API, became available on Saturday, as reported by AP. While similar high-speed data feeds are offered by other social media companies and media organisations, critics argue Truth Social is different because Trump's posts frequently move financial markets through announcements on tariffs, wars, monetary policy and other government decisions.
