NEW YORK - Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed E. Jean Carroll’s successful rape and defamation case as a “total scam” even as she filed new court papers demanding more damages over his fresh attacks on her.
In an apparent response to Carroll’s new demand for at least another $10 million in damages, Trump repeated his denials of the advice columnist’s claims that he sexually assaulted her in a Manhattan department store changing room nearly three decades ago.
“I don’t know E. Jean Carroll, I never met her or touched her,” Trump wrote on his social media site.
