In a recent episode of The Mary Trump Show’s “Nerd Avengers” series, discussions centered on former President Donald Trump’s expected surrender to Georgia authorities.
Jen Taub, one of the co-hosts, shared her eagerness for a possible televised arraignment, saying she found it intriguing that Trump’s lawyers might, at some point, have to argue his client’s non-threatening nature in front of a judge.
Taub remarked, “Your lawyer has to say that you, Donald, he, Donald, poses no significant risk of intimidating witnesses or otherwise obstructing the administration of justice. Oh, my flippin’ God, I can’t get enough of that sentence!”
Mary Trump, the show’s main host and the former president’s niece, also expressed her concerns about those who continue to back her uncle and other figures she deemed as “anti-democratic fascists.”
“We need to stop giving a shit with those people. I don’t fucking care. I don’t care if they’re angry. I don’t care if they threaten. People don’t care anymore because their feelings are irrelevant,” she said.
Norm Ornstein, another co-host, shared his dissatisfaction with how Trump’s other indictments were handled. He argued that, if the principle of “equal justice under law” were to be upheld, Trump should face the same procedures as anyone else charged with a crime.
“If we’re talking about equal justice under law, then he should be treated like anybody else who is charged,” Ornstein said.
“Put his fat ass in jail because he deserves it!” he added, to which Mary Trump agreed.
The trio also discussed the potential dangers arising from Trump’s actions, which included publicizing what he said was former President Barack Obama’s address.
Ornstein emphasized the urgency of addressing such actions, saying, “This is not acceptable. And the idea that we have to have judges, prosecutors, grand jurors, witnesses having protection against violence. You have got to draw a line and it’s time to draw that line.”
