Trump's Cabinet Announcement Spree Continues With White House Communications Team

Former U.S. President Trump departs Trump Tower in New York

President-elect Donald Trump is actively making Cabinet announcements following his recent victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. The focus now shifts to the selection of the White House communications team.

Karoline Leavitt, the former national press secretary for the Trump campaign, is a top contender for the press secretary role. Alina Habba, Trump's legal spokeswoman and adviser, was also considered but opted for other responsibilities.

Speculation surrounds potential candidates for the position, including Scott Jennings, Jason Miller, Steven Cheung, Sage Steele, Elizabeth Pipko, and Monica Crowley.

Trump's first administration witnessed multiple changes in the communications team, with Sean Spicer, Anthony Scaramucci, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Stephanie Grisham all holding key roles.

Trump's current transition phase is progressing swiftly, with 20 individuals already appointed to key Cabinet and administration positions. Leavitt emphasized that Trump's selections reflect his commitment to prioritize America's interests.

Notable recent appointments include Rep. Mike Waltz as national security adviser and former Rep. Lee Zeldin to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

Trump's initial chief of staff selection, Susie Wiles, was announced promptly after the election, indicating a faster pace compared to his 2016 transition. Taylor Budowich was named as assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for communications and personnel.

While Trump's first press secretary pick in 2016 was announced later in December, this year's selection is expected to be revealed sooner, aligning with the rapid pace of his Cabinet announcements.
