Trump reveals his new disparaging nickname for Democrats

Donald Trump has unveiled his new disparaging nickname for Democrats.

“I came up with a new name. I don't know if I should,” the president said, during a rambling hour-long interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity to discuss his historic meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.

“Dumocrats,” Trump said with a flourish, explaining that the name was because “they’re dumb.”

“I got rid of the B. So, you’re only changing one letter. E goes and the U comes,” he told Hannity.

Trump said his idea for the disparaging nickname had come while talking to Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries who he described as a “very low IQ individual.”

“So he's a dumb guy, he's a Democrat, and I said, ‘Oh, what a great name for this!’” he said.

Trump’s ire towards Jeffries is well-documented. In a blistering social media post last week, the president blamed Jeffries for the alleged assassination attempt against him at last month’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner and demanded that he face criminal charges.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump called Jeffries a “lunatic” and “Low IQ“ and said he “should be charged with INCITING VIOLENCE” while claiming that “Radical Left Democrats actually want to Destroy our Country.”

Trump’s comments accompanied a graphic showing Jeffries speaking at an April press conference where he called for “maximum warfare” relating to Democratic-led states’ work to counter GOP redistricting next to a still image from security camera footage of the attempted shooting at the Washington Hilton.

Elsewhere in his interview with Hannity, which took place in Beijing and was the first on-camera sit-down for the president since his meeting with Xi, Trump offered few concrete details on the bilateral talks.

Instead the president discussed the possible sale of Boeing airplanes and soybeans to China, and complimented is own bombing campaign in Iran. But he hailed the meeting as “very historic.”

“It's the two great countries, I call it the G2,” he said as he rounded out the interview.

“They have G7, they have the G8. This is the G2 and I think it'll go down as a very important moment in history, and maybe more than anything else, a great moment of respect.”
