President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he has selected retired three-star general Keith Kellogg to serve as his special envoy for Ukraine and Russia. Kellogg, a highly decorated Army lieutenant general, has been a key adviser to Trump on defense issues and previously served as national security adviser to Vice President Mike Pence.

As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine enters its third year, Kellogg will be tasked with navigating the complex situation. The Biden administration has been providing significant security assistance to Ukraine, with over $56 billion allocated since the start of Russia's invasion in February 2022.

Trump has criticized the amount of aid sent to Ukraine by the Biden administration and has suggested that he could end the war quickly. Kellogg, as a co-chairman of the American First Policy Institute’s Center for American Security, has emphasized the need for strong leadership to bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Despite his involvement in past controversies, including the 2019 call between Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, Kellogg has remained a trusted figure in Trump's inner circle. He has been vocal about the importance of an 'America First' national security agenda and has advocated for ending hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.

With Kellogg's appointment, Trump aims to secure peace through strength and make America and the world safe again. The incoming special envoy will face the challenge of mediating between the two warring nations and working towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
