Kellogg, a highly decorated Army lieutenant general, has been a key adviser to Trump on defense issues and previously served as national security adviser to Vice President Mike Pence.
As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine enters its third year, Kellogg will be tasked with navigating the complex situation. The Biden administration has been providing significant security assistance to Ukraine, with over $56 billion allocated since the start of Russia's invasion in February 2022.
