Trump orders increased production of glyphosate weedkiller, a month ago RFK Jr said it causes cancer

We’re all going to die, but Donald Trump is apparently determined that we’re going to die more slowly and more painfully.

Late on Wednesday, Trump signed an executive order invoking the Defense Production Act to boost production of glyphosate weedkiller. Glyphosate is classed as a “probable carcinogen” and is banned or restricted in multiple countries, with fierce debate ongoing as to whether it’s safe for humans to be exposed to it.

But don’t take my word for it, take the Secretary of Health, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In March 2025, he vowed that he’d make it his mission to stamp out glyphosate weedkiller:

Our HHSGov will collaborate with other departments, including the USDA and EPA, to implement policies that limit pesticide use and support organic farming. The FDA will impose the strictest limits on pesticides and herbicides in food to change agricultural practices. Americans deserve normal, healthy food, and no one should be consuming pesticides and herbicides from their meals.

“I believe that glyphosate causes cancer.”

Only last month, he said: “I believe that glyphosate causes cancer.” But that was a whole month ago, way back in the ancient times of… January 2026. So what does he think now?

“Donald Trump’s Executive Order puts America first where it matters most — our defense readiness and our food supply. We must safeguard America’s national security first, because all of our priorities depend on it. When hostile actors control critical inputs, they weaken our security. By expanding domestic production, we close that gap and protect American families.”

Huh. Well, I guess American families will be protected… even as they apparently slowly die of cancer.

Needless to say, Kennedy’s fans, who are adamant that glyphosate is dangerous and have spent years campaigning alongside him to ban it, are not happy. They describe this as a “betrayal”, with others saying he’s “f–ked us”, that he “doesn’t care about making anyone healthy”, and that he’s a “fraud”.

I mean, Kennedy is a fraud, but for many other reasons on top of this one. But this simply underlines what working with Trump does to your morals. Betrayal means excommunication, so you have to be prepared to betray everything you believe in to be able to stand next to him.
