Former President Donald Trump expressed openness to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. potentially playing a role in his administration if Kennedy were to drop out of the 2024 race and endorse Trump. Trump praised Kennedy, calling him a brilliant and smart individual whom he has known for a long time.

Trump's comments followed statements from Kennedy Jr.'s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, who suggested that the Kennedy campaign is contemplating withdrawing from the race and supporting Trump to prevent Vice President Kamala Harris from winning.
