Lara Trump says it would be ‘nicer’ for Ron DeSantis to stay out of 2024 presidential election
Former vice president Mike Pence said that the US will have “better choices in the future” than former president Donald Trump, who is set to announce his much-anticipated 2024 presidential run.
In a newly released interview with ABC, Mr Pence said he will be giving “prayerful consideration” to launching his own 2024 White House bid.
Speaking of the announcement on Tuesday that will be made at his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, he wrote on Truth Social: “Hopefully, tomorrow will turn out to be one of the most important days in the history of our Country!”
He is expected to make the announcement at 9pm EST today, looking to move attention on from disappointing midterm defeats that have been seen by many as signs his grip on the Republican Party is waning.
It comes as the twice-impeached president failed to appear for an appointment to give testimony before the House congressional committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
A trio of longtime Republican operatives are expected to lead Mr Trump’s 2024 campaign, the Washington Post reported citing five people familiar with the decision.
