Trump makes fresh Iran jibe after Tehran denies peace talks

Donald Trump accused Iran of being "unbelievably duplicitous" for denying that talks aimed at ending the conflict were taking place.
Trump claimed Iran had "begged" for negotiations and that discussions were ongoing to reach a "solution" to the current stand-off, despite Tehran 's denials.
He dismissed Iran's assertions of controlling the strategic Strait of Hormuz as "their usual blather," stating the US Navy maintains full control.
These remarks followed Trump's decision to halt a significant US military attack to allow for diplomatic efforts, which Iran subsequently denied were occurring.
Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson stated the Strait of Hormuz would not revert to its pre-conflict status and denied any talks about reopening the waterway, though confirming discussions with Oman.
