Sylvester Stallone has revealed that he was not consulted before President Donald Trump announced him as a special ambassador to Hollywood, saying he first learned about the appointment while watching television.
In January 2025, Trump announced Stallone, Jon Voight, and Mel Gibson as 'Special Envoys' to Hollywood, saying the trio would help bring film and television production back to the US. Trump did not outline a detailed set of duties for the three actors, instead saying they would serve as his 'eyes and ears' in Hollywood.
