Trump made a bold claim about his popularity. The data says otherwise

  • Donald Trump claimed unprecedented popularity during a Fox News interview, despite multiple recent polls indicating he is highly unpopular with American voters.
  • He cited a CNN poll showing 100 per cent approval within the 'MAGA' faction of his party but dismissed Fox News polls, which showed a 59 per cent disapproval rating for his performance.
  • The Fox News survey also revealed a record low 84 per cent approval among Republicans, a decrease from 92 per cent the previous month.
  • Other polls, including Reuters, placed his approval rating even lower at 36 per cent, while an Associated Press/NORC poll found 60 per cent of Americans believe the war against Iran has gone too far.
  • Voters expressed significant disapproval of his foreign policy, with 62 per cent disapproving of his handling of foreign affairs and 64 per cent specifically disapproving of his Iran policy.
