With 40 delegates up for grabs in the state, Trump managed to secure 20 of them, solidifying his position as a frontrunner in the race for the Republican nomination. His closest competitors, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley, trailed behind with 8 and 7 delegates respectively, while entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy managed to secure 2 delegates. Three delegates are yet to be determined.
Trump's victory in Iowa provides him with a notable boost in momentum as the Republican National Convention approaches later this summer. In order to secure the party's nomination, a candidate must accumulate a total of 1,215 delegates at the convention.
