Former President Donald Trump gained more early state wins on Saturday as he moves closer to a potential rematch with President Joe Biden. Recent polling data released today sheds light on how voters perceive the candidates when compared head-to-head.

In the latest poll, Donald Trump holds a two-point lead over Joe Biden in a hypothetical presidential matchup. The favorability ratings show a significant shift for Biden, who went from a plus four in February 2020 to a negative 18 currently.

Senator Chris Coons, a surrogate from the Biden campaign, highlighted the positive impact of President Biden's leadership during a recent campaign visit to Michigan. Coons emphasized the tangible benefits of Biden's policies, such as the creation of high-wage manufacturing jobs, semiconductor investments, infrastructure projects, and a substantial raise for UAW members.

Biden's favorability rating dropped from +4 to -18.

Coons pointed to the optimism he witnessed in Michigan, particularly in areas like Bay City and Saginaw, where the community has experienced economic growth and job opportunities under Biden's administration. The senator also praised Biden's efforts in reducing prescription drug prices, supporting veterans, investing in infrastructure, and facilitating the creation of nearly 15 million new jobs in the private sector.

Comparing the job records of the two presidents, Coons highlighted the contrast between Biden's achievements and Trump's tenure. He noted that Trump's job record was comparable to Herbert Hoover, while Biden has made significant strides in lowering unemployment rates and driving investment through bipartisan legislation.
