US President Donald Trump has praised Prime Minister Andy Burnham as a 'natural businessperson' and claimed relations between Washington and London are 'more up' than they were under Sir Keir Starmer, even as he condemned the UK's Chagos Islands agreement as a 'terrible' deal.
The comments came after the leaders held their first face-to-face bilateral meeting on Tuesday, 22 September, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The 40-minute talks covered trade, energy, immigration, Ukraine and territorial disputes. However, the Chagos Islands emerged as a key disagreement.
