President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday that his former GOP presidential rival Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not be part of his incoming administration. Trump made this statement on his social media platform, Truth Social.
In his post, Trump expressed his gratitude for the past collaboration with Haley and Pompeo but clarified that he would not be extending an invitation for them to serve in his administration. He acknowledged their previous contributions and service to the country.
Trump's message on Truth Social read, “I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation. I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
While Trump emphasized his positive working relationship with Haley and Pompeo, he made it clear that they would not be part of the team being assembled for his upcoming administration.
Both Haley and Pompeo have previously held significant roles in the Trump administration. Haley served as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, while Pompeo was the Secretary of State during Trump's presidency.
As Trump continues to shape his administration, his decision not to include Haley and Pompeo indicates a shift in personnel choices for his upcoming term. The President-elect's focus remains on building a team that aligns with his vision for the future.
