President Donald Trump has appeared in a new television advertisement paid for by the US government, warning viewers that America is facing a 'final battle' as his administration steps up a taxpayer-funded advertising campaign ahead of November's midterm elections.

The 30-second commercial aired on Sunday during NFL broadcasts on Fox, including the Washington Commanders-Seattle Seahawks game and the Carolina Panthers-Cleveland Browns matchup. The spot ends with an on-screen notice identifying the US government as its payer, according to reports.
