President Donald Trump officially declared Feb. 9, 2025, as "Gulf of America Day" to celebrate his executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico, signing the proclamation while flying over the gulf aboard Air Force One on his way to the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday.

"I, Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim February 9, 2025, as Gulf of America Day," the proclamation read.
