- President Donald Trump claimed on Truth Social that the Kennedy Center is in a state of collapse , shortly before a federal judge permanently blocked efforts to add his name to the venue.
- U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper issued an order barring the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees from inscribing Trump's name on the building facade or renaming the campus President Donald J. Trump Plaza.
- He ruled that the Kennedy Center's public spaces honor President John F. Kennedy alone and rejected administration arguments that the venue faces irreparable financial harm without the rebranding.
- "The Kennedy Center is in a virtual state of collapse, and has been for many years," Trump wrote. "A large piece of concrete and steel just dropped down, in a thud, from the ceiling of a heavily trafficked main hallway. If the Building were open, innocent people would have been killed. A security guard had just passed the area, one minute prior to this ceiling collapse. He was, therefore, 60 seconds away from certain death."
- Trump did not mention that the Kennedy Center's own communications office, describing the same Grand Foyer ceiling incident after storms hit Washington earlier this month, said only that a section of ceiling had come down and that "no one was hurt."
