Trump Blames Norway for Nobel Peace Prize Snub as He Calls Decision an 'Indelible Stain'

Donald Trump has blamed Norway for his failure to win the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, writing on Truth Social that the outcome was 'an indelible stain on Norway, one that will never be forgotten'. The independent Norwegian Nobel Committee, not Norway's government, awarded the prize to South African jurist Navi Pillay for her efforts to promote peace and international law.

Trump criticised the decision at a rally in Syracuse, New York, on 9 October before continuing his attacks on social media. He questioned Pillay's record and argued that his efforts to end international conflicts should have earned him the award.
