President Donald Trump on Friday turned an attempt at an insult against a journalist into an embarrassing spelling mistake as he touted his administration’s latest immigration arrest statistics on social media.
Writing on Truth Social, he quipped that he was “not necessarily thrilled to be talking about” the subject at hand because “it does not exactly sound NICE,” which was a reference to his repeated suggestion to add the word “national” to the name of Immigration and Customs Enforcement because doing so would force journalists to refer to the agency’s personnel as “NICE agents.”
