An American influencer and a German financier have been charged after an alleged assault at Bond Street Underground station.
Melissa Rein Lively is charged with assault by beating while Philipp Ostermann, 37, is charged with two racially aggravated public order offences and a further public order offence, after an incident at Bond Street Underground station on the evening of October 11 last year, British Transport Police said on Friday.
Rein Lively, 40, is the Donald Trump-supporting founder of an “anti-woke” PR firm called America First PR.
She had made public before President Trump’s second term that she wanted to become his official spokesperson.
Police appealed over the alleged incident last year and issued an image of two people who were said to be involved.
At the time of the appeal British Transport Police said the alleged victim, 34, had been entering the central London Underground Station with her sister and two young children when the alleged assault occurred.
The man then allegedly began shouting racial abuse at the victim and her family, before the woman allegedly grabbed her.
The first hearing for the case will be at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday May 19, police said.
