Donald Trump has asked the US Supreme Court to overturn nearly $1 million in sanctions and revive his lawsuit accusing Hillary Clinton and others of trying to damage his 2016 presidential bid by tying it to Russia.

The president filed a petition on Friday, 9 October, seeking to reinstate claims that federal courts have already dismissed and which led to an order that he, his lawyer Alina Habba and her law firm jointly pay $937,989.39 in legal fees and costs.
