Eddie Howe says that Newcastle United players are finding their "true potential" after he and his coaching staff gave them detailed plans to hit top form.
The likes of Miguel Almiron, Sean Longstaff, Joelinton, Fabian Schar and Callum Wilson were inherited by Howe and co, but have been integral to the club's turnaround in fortunes. And a Newcastle team that had taken part in an annual relegation battle are now in a Champions League position and looking up rather than over their shoulder.
Howe said: "What we have tried to do is give them good training. We've tried to give them intense work. We have tried to detail the work around them as individuals and their roles within the team.
"So we have tried to make the team better and the individuals. Ultimately then the players enter the pitch in a confident frame of mind and are able to deliver their true potential. Once their confidence levels rose I think we've seen the true player in there."
