A family-run pharmacy has been left with extensive damage in the run-up to Christmas after a truck crashed into its front window earlier this morning.
The accident occurred at around 2:50 am on December 17 in Charlestown, Co Mayo, however, the pharmacy remained open for business today despite damage.
It is understood that the driver lost control of their vehicle after meeting black ice on the road as authorities continue to warn motorists of treacherous conditions.

Many surfaces nationwide are hazardous after yet another overnight freeze, with conditions set to continue over the coming days.
A garda spokesperson confirmed: "A truck collided with a traffic island and then collided with a parked vehicle and caused extensive damage to a building on Market Square."
The driver of the truck was brought to the hospital but thankfully there were no serious injuries reported.
Ian Johnson, who runs the pharmacy with his wife Nuala O'Donnell, said that even though the front of the property is badly damaged, the dispensary area remains intact with access available to the public.
Mr Johnson said: "There's a gaping hole with a truck. My dispensary is running, I've a side door at the back for anyone who needs anything."
The business owner then added that roads in the area were "absolutely lethal" overnight.
Engineering experts are .the damage caused and are ensuring that the property, a standalone building in Market Square in Charlestown, is safe.
In an update on Facebook, they confirmed: “Today, Saturday 17th December, and probably all next week we are only able to offer a prescription service and over-the-counter medicines for retail sale.
“As always our patients & customers come first and we will do everything in our power to assist you at this time.
“Please use the side door next to our house for entrance to the rear of the shop if needed (mind the steps!!) and/or call these numbers for assistance in getting your medication.”
Meanwhile, Met Éireann has issued another Status Yellow ice warning which will affect 18 counties nationwide from 5:00 pm until 9:00 am tomorrow - when weather experts will assess conditions once more.
