Troy Hill waited a while to find his next team in free agency but this week, he landed in a new home. The Carolina Panthers announced that Hill has agreed to terms on a deal, likely a one-year pact with the former Rams cornerback.
Hill will have some familiar faces in the Panthers’ building, specifically on defense. Ejiro Evero is the defensive coordinator and Jonathan Cooley is the cornerbacks coach, both of whom coaches with the Rams during Hill’s tenure in Los Angeles.
Thomas Brown is also the Panthers’ offensive coordinator, while Johnny Hekker and Austin Corbett are both on Carolina’s roster, having played on the same team as Hill in the past.
The Rams acquired Hill in a trade with the Browns during last year’s draft, reuniting for one year after he left for Cleveland in free agency in 2021. Hill previously spent five years with the Rams and six seasons total with the franchise, including last year.
