Tropical Storm Helene Weakens Over Central Georgia

Tropical Storm Helene has weakened as it makes its way across central Georgia, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center. The storm now has sustained winds of 70 mph, downgrading it from a hurricane.

As of the 5 a.m. ET update, Tropical Storm Helene is positioned 40 miles east of Macon, Georgia, and 100 miles southeast of Atlanta, Georgia. It is currently moving north at a speed of 30 mph.
