A tropical storm that has been forming over the Atlantic Ocean has been given a name by meteorologists as it continues to grow in size.
According to weather experts, the storm, which has formed off the west coast of Africa, will be shortly named Storm Bret.
Although the hurricane-forming system has appeared “very early” thankfully the system is headed west leaving Ireland alone, but this is just in the short term.

Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather explained via his popular Twitter page: "An early tropical storm in the Atlantic looks likely to be named Bret soon.
"Very early in the season to see a storm forming off the west coast of Africa with a risk of becoming a hurricane. It is expected to track West and not anywhere near Ireland in the short term."
Another UK-based meteorologist, Daniel Cole, has labelled the tropical storm Heatwave 2.0, sharing images of the weather models that show both high pressure and increased heat are returning.
Some early indications were seen on Sunday that the heatwave that blasted Ireland recently may return this weekend, with Cole stating his confidence was increasing amongst experts that the heatwave was due to return sooner rather than later.
Among the experts was Alan O'Reilly, who agreed the showers hitting Ireland at the moment would last until Thursday but current indications were showing uncertainty about what direction the weather was headed.
O'Reilly explained: "The weather outlook is for these showery conditions to continue for the next few days at least, especially up Thursday.
"A lot of uncertainty regarding next weekend and beyond as we are stuck between a battle of high and low. The high could win out in the end."
Met Eireann's forecast for the weekend also showed good news, with the national forecaster predicting it will be "warmer on Saturday with temperatures getting up to the mid-20s before returning to the high teens or low twenties for Sunday."
