Newcastle United were again left frustrated by another home draw, this time 1-1 with Bournemouth. The Magpies started well with most of the early possession, with Ryan Fraser and Miguel Almiron heavily involved without finding the final ball.
But it was the visitors with the first real chance, Marcus Tavernier heading wide after a cross from the left. Neto was then called upon to his first Bournemouth save, collecting Fabian Schar's header from a Matt Targett cross.
United almost broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark, but Kieran Trippier's free-kick hit the post before going behind. For all Newcastle's possession, they were struggling to create chances as the half wore on.

The Magpies then hit the woodwork for the second time when Joelinton's effort hit the frame of the goal following good work from Fraser. Neto then saved from the Brazilian again before denying Fraser as United turned up the pressure.
The visitors shocked St James' Park by taking the lead midway through the second half. Tavernier was allowed to travel before feeding Zemura who crossed for Billing to score.
The lead didn't last long, however, with United awarded a penalty for handball following a VAR review. Alexander Isak stepped up to convert to get the Magpies back on level terms.
However, that's how it stayed as chances remained thin on the ground.
Here's how Lee Ryder has rated the Newcastle players.
Nick Pope 7
Faced 10 shots and never looked in any real trouble. Left exposed for the Bournemouth opener.
Kieran Trippier 7
Saw a first half effort strike the post. Swung in 16 crosses.
Fabian Schar 7
Actually proved to be one of United's biggest attacking threats.
Dan Burn 8
Probably the pick of the defence with some key tackles. Justified coming in over Botman.
Matt Targett 6
Looked comfortable throughout.
Joelinton 7
A yellow card left him on thin ice but got through the game.
Bruno Guimaraes 7
Only taken off as it was first game back after injury. Put in some sharp tackles and guarded the back four well as anchor man.
Joe Willock 7
Always looked to make something happen. Supplied a couple of key passes.
Ryan Fraser 6
Unlucky to see one effort palmed away by Neto. Should have done better with second chance after the break.
Miguel Almiron 6
Just one cross from the playmaker. A better second half but unable to step into the creative space left by Saint-Maximin. Did not grasp his chance to be the main man here.
Alexander Isak 6
Will rue the lack of decent service. But showed bottle to take the ball for the penalty and slam home. Only as good as the supply line around him.
Subs
Sean Longstaff 6 (for Bruno 71)
Jacob Murphy 7 (for Fraser 71)
Chris Wood (for Almiron 89)
*Subs must play 15 minutes to get a mark.
