Tributes have been paid to a former Edinburgh headteacher described as "one of a kind" and a 'lovely positive person" after his death.
Henry Phillip was headteacher at Liberton High School for 16 years from 1969 to 1985 and spent years in various roles for the Scottish Labour Party later in life.
He was originally from Aberdeen but settled in Edinburgh years ago and sadly passed away on Friday, April 15 at 95 years old.

The Edinburgh Labour Party shared the news and said: "Some sad news for our party, Edinburgh southern stalwart and former Edinburgh high school headteacher Henry Philip passes away on April 14.
"Henry played a huge part in Edinburgh labour - not just being Treasurer of Edinburgh Southern and the driving force behind our Burns Supper but in organising our leafletting, staffing the office during election campaigns, and keeping us right on the rules.
"Not to speak of being a great proofreader for our leaflets and always giving his supportive and positively critical thoughts!"
They continued: "We owe Henry a huge vote of thanks.
"For many years in his 80s and 90s, he was still making a bigger active contribution than many half his age and his efforts and charm will be missed by many many people.
"Rest in Peace Henry."

Maureen Child added: "Henry was such a lovely positive person, even when finding fault. Sharp as a tack, well into his nineties. A huge loss for us all!"
While Ben Procter said: "Deeply saddened to hear this. Henry really was one of a kind."
