Tributes paid to beloved 1990s TV producer after death at 68

  • Filmmaker and producer David Kendall, widely recognised for his work on the popular Nineties coming-of-age sitcom Boy Meets World, has passed away at the age of 68.
  • His death was announced by former Boy Meets World stars Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong, who co-host the Pod Meets World podcast, describing him as instrumental in the show's creation as a director, writer, and executive producer.
  • Kendall's extensive career also included directing the 2005 Milo Ventimiglia comedy Dirty Deeds and contributing to numerous other well-known sitcoms such as Growing Pains, Hannah Montana, iCarly, and Melissa & Joey.
  • The statement from the former cast members highlighted Kendall's role in shaping young creative voices and working with future stars like Austin Butler, Zendaya, and Miley Cyrus during the early stages of their careers.
  • Born in Philadelphia in 1957, Kendall was also a screenwriter, with credits including the 2002 teen comedy The New Guy and 2010's Revenge of the Bridesmaids; no cause of death has been publicly announced.
