Tributes have been paid to a 'beautiful young lady' who died in a car crash on a Scots road yesterday.
Beth Mae Damer has been named locally as the 20-year-old who passed away in the incident which took place at around 4.30pm on the A72 at Biggar, Lanarkshire.
Devastated pals have flocked to social media to express their sadness following the tragedy.
One person said: "Rip to such a beautiful young lady Beth absolutely devastating sending all our condolences to all her family & friends a special Angel taken way to early."
Another wrote: "Rest in peace my beautiful girl Beth Mae Damer you will be so missed".
A third said: "I’m absolutely gutted by this news!
"Beth was such a caring, kind hearted & loving girl! Definitely a beautiful soul taking from us too early.
"Every parents worst nightmare mare! My thoughts are with her family & friends! Absolutely devastating."
A fourth added: "Such a kind hearted and caring girl! Taken far too young, had an amazing life ahead of her.
"Thought are with her family and friends. Rest Easy young lady".
Yesterday's smash saw a black BMW M135, which was travelling towards Biggar, veer off the road.
Paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service and officers from Police Scotland rushed to the scene where Beth, the passenger, was sadly pronounced dead.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was taken to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment.
His condition is not yet known.
The road was locked down for nine hours while officers carried out their enquiries.
It re-opened at around 1.30am today.
Cops are now urging anyone with any information on the crash to come forward.
Sergeant John Houston said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved at this time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are appealing to anyone who may have information that could help to get in touch.
“I would ask anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch.
"I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam footage which may assist to contact us.”
