Tributes have been paid to the "Queen of Moore Street" Carmel Mooney who died on Tuesday aged 84.
Ms Mooney passed away "peacefully, at the Mater Hospital, surrounded by her loving family". She grew up in Hentrietta House and was the third generation of family traders on Moore Street, taking up the reins after her mother and grandmother.
Stephen Troy of Troy's Family Butchers on Moore Street said that Carmel's death is "another huge loss" to the market, which has faced major challenges over the past few years.
