Tributes have poured in after the death of Daragh Aherne Clarke (McKenna), son of The Dubliners founding member Barney McKenna.
Daragh died suddenly at his home in Howth on Wednesday. A service is being held for him in Dardistown Crematorium on Tuesday morning.
Musician Glen Dunne, who was a good friend of Daragh's, told Dublin Live: "He came and he left in the same aul stroke. A giant of a man, a gent of a bloke. Always quick with the chimes and fast with a joke.

"He knew how to live life much better than most."
Daragh's RIP.ie notice reads: "Aherne Clarke (McKenna) Daragh, Howth, Co. Dublin and formerly of Clonsilla. Suddenly, at home on 15th March 2023. Beloved son of Helen Aherne O’Brien and David Clarke, stepfather Kevin O’Brien and predeceased by his father Barney McKenna. Daragh will be sadly missed by his brother Liam Aherne Clarke, sister-in-law Pamela, nieces Grace and Sophie, nephew Matthew, uncles, aunts, cousins and a large circle of friends."
Daragh will repose in Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock on Monday, 20th March, from 4pm to 6pm. A service is being held in Dardistown Crematorium on Tuesday morning at 10am.
